We often get the question within the Tech department and our Tech Advocates, especially when using Chromebooks-is the internet down or is Google having some disruption issues? You may experience times when Google Drive will not load properly, or you may get an internal error message pop-up on the screen which usually would load your page without issues. To check and see if there are Google-Apps service-related issues, you can visit the following website:
www.google.com/appstatus and find out if there are any reported Google disruptions or outages-and yes, they do happen. Even Google is not perfect-shocking, we know!
This website lists all the Google Apps and the colors orange or pink will indicate whether there are disruptions with the App. Orange means a disruption (not all accounts are affected-pink means outage and all are affected). This can happen for a variety of reasons, and only the powers at Google can fix! If students are having issues logging into the Google accounts, it may be an Internet issue which technology can help to fix. The good news is Google is usually very good at fixing these in a timely fashion, so try not to be too discouraged! Just keep trying to load the page if you can, and you should be on your way to Google working "business as usual" once again!
